The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian award of the United States, alongside the Congressional Gold Medal. It is an award bestowed by decision of the president of the United States to recognize people who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors."

If there is anyone who wants to question why Rev. James Bevel does not deserve "Presidential Medal of Freedom" should read Jet Magazine June 20,1963. Like Dr. Martin Luther King Rev. Bevel had he power mesmerize crowds. Like Superheroes they Travel from one city to the next inspiring others to fight for their basic humanity. Rev. James Bevel was an actual super hero fighting for justice. He was no family whereas he moved from one city to the next. Women really loved him as many Black women loves preachers.
